Setting up Lync 2013 server store, monitoring and archiving with multiple SQL instances is possible with a neat little configuration trick.
Just add ",port" (comma and port of your named sql instance)
In Topology manager it will look similar to this:
And thats all there is to it.
Just add ",port" (comma and port of your named sql instance)
I.e. Instance can be "LyncMon,1435"
Remember that to create databases your user must be assigned RtcUniversalServerAdmins role.
