Note that M9r is not certified for Lync, (yet), but that doesn’t mean it does not work with Lync 2013. In fact, it works very well.
    1. Connecting to the base admin web console

How to find the ip address for the web admin console:
Plug in an ethernet cable to the base and then plug in the power.
Turn on the handset and wait for it to connect to the base.
Press the menu button (round one in the middle)
If it asks for pin use default 0000 (4 times zero)
Choose settings

Choose system info

Here you can find the IP address and connect to http://your-ip in the web browser

Logon to the Admin web console.
Default user: Admin
Default Password: password
Scroll down and choose accept and Submit
Then choose the your language and note the system pin change
Go to Maintenance
Download the latest firmware for the device and update and reboot.
Wait for the base to reboot after update.

After reboot go to status and check that you have the newest firmware you uploaded.
Go to Security Settings and choose The “Don’t Validate certificates”. Important!

Go to i.e. Identity1 and fill inn your sign in details and use the above as an example.

Go to the SIP tab and check RTP Ice and RTP encryption = on

Go to the Handset tab and Assign your Handset.

That’s it. Your SNOM M9r is set up to Lync 2013.

  1. As a second bonus, Kai Stenberg (who commented above) tested this phone from his homeoffice and was able to sign in to Lync and dial as well. So maybe this is the desktop phone for your homeoffice? :)
